Nancy Lutkehaus

Nancy Lutkehaus was an undergraduate student at Barnard College and a graduate student at Columbia University. She worked in Papua New Guinea and also worked as a consultant on two documentaries about Margaret Mead. Recently, she has decided to put a book together that focuses on Mead as myth and symbol. She analyzes newspaper, magazine, radio and television coverage of Mead and also looks at how Mead herself constructed her public image and the messages she wanted to convey to the American public.
